Is This the Face of a Child with Bipolar Disorder?

One might say no...but the answer is yes... because Bipolar Disorder has no unique face. This is a collage of photographs of Ryan from eighteen months through age six.

The Ryan Licht Sang Bipolar Foundation is on a Quest For The Test™ to find an empirical test for Bipolar Disorder so that children and adolescents affected by this disorder can be diagnosed while they are still young.  Today, it can take up to ten years to get a proper diagnosis because the symptoms of bipolar disorder in children and adolescents can resemble the symptoms of other childhood-onset mental disorders.  With an empirical test, early diagnosis and intervention will be possible.  It is the first step in the journey to find a cure.  Without your help, another generation of children and families will continue to have their lives shaped by this insidious illness.
